Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo will join franchise legend Udonis Haslem on Sunday, Oct. 11, for a Lincoln Road charity challenge that has raised more than $715,000 for South Florida causes.
The eighth annual Anatomy Push-Up Challenge begins at 10 a.m. on the seventh floor of the parking garage at 1111 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. Participants will attempt as many push-ups as possible in one hour, with donations benefiting the Udonis Haslem Foundation and Adebayo's Bam, Books & Brotherhood Foundation.
This year's event marks Adebayo's first appearance at the fundraiser, bringing together two generations of Miami Heat players to support children and families in underserved communities.
One hour of push-ups for South Florida charities
The challenge asks participants to complete as many push-ups as possible within 60 minutes. Supporters pledge donations based on each participant's final count, turning the physical competition into a fundraiser for local charitable programs.
Registration opens at 9 a.m., with the challenge beginning at 10 a.m.
Over its eight-year history, the event has raised more than $715,000 for South Florida charities, according to Miami New Times.
Haslem became a charitable partner in 2021, establishing Team UD to encourage participation and raise additional donations.
Previous participants have included Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
"This is Miami, we know how to show up for each other," Haslem said in a statement reported by Haute Living.
Adebayo described joining the fundraiser as "an easy yes," citing his respect for Haslem's longstanding commitment to the Miami community.
He also brought some friendly competition to the event, joking that he would have "to make sure I don't embarrass UD in the push up count."
Heat stars build on years of community giving
Haslem, a three-time NBA champion who spent his entire 20-year playing career with Miami, established the Udonis Haslem Foundation to expand opportunities and resources for underserved children and families.
The foundation's initiatives include UD Kids, mental health programs and efforts to improve community accessibility.
Adebayo founded the Bam, Books & Brotherhood Foundation in 2017 to support single mothers and create educational and economic opportunities for children in South Florida and North Carolina.
His charitable work has focused on educational equity, food security and youth development, extending his influence beyond basketball.
The partnership brings two prominent Heat figures together for an event that combines fitness, community participation and fundraising.
Residents do not have to participate in the push-up challenge to contribute. Supporters can make flat donations through the event's online fundraising page.
