Art Basel Miami Beach and more than a dozen satellite fairs return to Miami Beach Dec. 1-6. The 2025 edition drew about 80,000 visitors and generated an estimated $570 million in economic impact across Miami-Dade County, according to an Art Basel spokesperson quoted by the Miami Herald.
The 24th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach opens with invitation-only previews Wednesday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive. Public days run Friday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 6.
The City of Miami Beach announced on X on July 30 that Art Basel offered Miami Beach residents a limited-time 50% discount on day tickets. The promotion ran Aug. 3-9, while supplies lasted.
The fair has grown from 160 galleries and 30,000 visitors at its 2002 debut to 283 galleries from 43 countries and more than 80,000 attendees in 2025, according to Miami Living Magazine. Art Basel confirmed its annual Awards Night will return during the December fair.
Behind the scenes, the fair's future in Miami Beach remains unsettled. Art Basel's current agreement with the city runs through 2026, and the two sides are negotiating a new deal. The Miami Herald reported that Art Basel is seeking lower rent at the Convention Center.
City Manager Eric Carpenter told the Miami Herald on July 29 that the talks have been productive. "We remain optimistic with our negotiations as they have been constructive and cordial," Carpenter said. "We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Art Basel for many years to come."

Design Miami runs Tuesday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 6, adjacent to the Convention Center. Curatorial Director Charlene Prempeh shaped this year's edition around the theme "Unveiling," according to Design Miami's website.
UNTITLED Art marks its 15th edition Wednesday, Dec. 2, through Sunday, Dec. 6, at its beachfront location on Miami Beach, with a VIP preview on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
SCOPE Miami Beach returns to the SCOPE Pavilion at 801 Ocean Drive, Tuesday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 6.
Aqua Art Miami transforms hotel rooms into gallery spaces at the Aqua Hotel on Collins Avenue, Wednesday, Dec. 2, through Sunday, Dec. 6.
INK Miami Art Fair celebrates its 20th year at the Suites of Dorchester on Miami Beach, Wednesday, Dec. 2, through Sunday, Dec. 6. The fair specializes in works on paper.
