Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center will hold a Mental Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, Oct. 10, as schools in the Miami Beach area continue to see heavy use of student mental health services.

The school has posted information about the fair on its website. Miami Beach Senior High School is also promoting the Oct. 10 event on its website.

No start time or schedule has been posted. Families can call 305-865-7912 or email [email protected] for more information.

Student use of mental health services rises

The fair comes as student use of mental and behavioral health services has increased across Miami Beach-area public schools.

From August 2024 through May 2025, 252 students received 1,370 mental health sessions through the city's behavioral health initiative, according to a City of Miami Beach report.

That was up from 131 students and 779 sessions during the previous reporting period.

At Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, 23 students received 216 sessions during the 2024-25 school year.

The program provides students access to behavioral health services addressing issues including anxiety, depression, stress, family problems, disruptive behavior and academic concerns.

Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center is at 1155 93rd St. in Bay Harbor Islands.
