Hawkeye Digital, a publicly traded private equity and merchant banking firm focused on digital assets, has moved its national headquarters to 350 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.

Formerly known as Hawkeye Systems, the company is setting up in an Industrious coworking space on the second floor of the five-story Lincoln Building. President David Wachsman told the South Florida Business Journal the firm has fewer than 10 full-time employees but plans to hire locally as it grows, Bisnow reported.

It operates a private equity arm that pursues controlling investments in growth companies and a merchant banking arm that advises firms on capital formation and exchange listings. Its initial focus areas include tokenization, stablecoins, blockchain-based financial infrastructure and artificial intelligence, according to a company press release.

"Miami Beach puts us at the center of that opportunity, and the bankers joining our team will help us act on it," Wachsman said in the Aug. 24 press release announcing the rebrand and relocation.

Wachsman also runs Wachsman, a global communications and advisory firm he founded in 2015 with offices across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Chairman Martin Sumichrast brings experience in investment banking and corporate finance across public companies, according to the firm's website.

The Industrious space at 350 Lincoln Road occupies 40,000 square feet in a building constructed in 1946. WeWork previously operated in the space from November 2014 until August 2018.

Hawkeye is hiring merchant bankers to staff its advisory and capital markets team. ThinkEquity LLC has signed on as the company's financial advisor, according to the press release.

Wachsman told the South Florida Business Journal, as reported by Bisnow, that the company plans to move from the coworking space to a traditional office lease once its team is more built out. The company trades under the ticker HWKE.
