Miami Beach’s museums, galleries and cultural landmarks will come alive with free music, art and special events Thursday, Oct. 15, as the city launches a new season of Culture Crawl, a monthly celebration of the arts at seven destinations across the city.

The City of Miami Beach announced on X that the program will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month through July.

Participating destinations include The Bass, the Wolfsonian-FIU, the New World Symphony, the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, the Miami Beach Bandshell, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden and Lincoln Road.

The monthly program gives residents and visitors an opportunity to explore the city's museums, galleries and cultural attractions without paying regular admission fees for participating activities.

What visitors can expect

Culture Crawl features a rotating selection of live music, gallery tours, exhibition openings, outdoor film screenings and behind-the-scenes experiences.

According to the city's Culture Crawl website, programming may include backstage tours, films in the park and opportunities to explore exhibitions outside regular museum hours.

Specific schedules for the Oct. 15 season opener had not been posted as of Friday, Oct. 9.

Lincoln Road also participates through its monthly Art Walk, which brings visitors into galleries and other creative spaces along the pedestrian shopping district. Previous events have included exhibition openings and opportunities to meet artists.

Although Culture Crawl is promoted as a free event, the city advises that individual activities may carry admission charges unless otherwise noted.

Exploring Miami Beach's cultural attractions

Visitors can begin at any participating location and explore at their own pace.

Several destinations are within walking or biking distance of one another, particularly those in South Beach. The Miami Beach Bandshell, located in North Beach, is farther from the South Beach museums and galleries.

Visitors planning to explore multiple neighborhoods can use the city's free trolley system, although they should confirm routes and operating hours before traveling.

The monthly schedule allows participants to visit different cultural attractions throughout the season rather than attempting to see everything in one evening.
