Miami Beach families can sign their kids up for six competitive and recreational sports this fall, with resident registration opening Monday, August 10, and programs running Tuesday, September 8, through Tuesday, November 10.

Miami Beach Parks and Recreation announced the fall lineup on its official city account July 31: recreation and travel baseball and soccer, recreation basketball, volleyball, flag football, and fencing. Age requirements vary by sport.

The price gap between residents and non-residents is dramatic. Residents pay $33 per sport; non-residents pay $295, according to the city's Facebook announcement.

Non-resident registration opens a week later, on Monday, August 17.

The fall programs mark the first organized competitive sports opportunity for Miami Beach youth this school year. Miami-Dade County Public Schools start Thursday, August 13, so families will have just under a month between the first day of school and the September 8 season kickoff to get registered and placed on teams.

The registration portal at register.miamibeachparks.com lists both youth and adult athletics categories, though the city's announcement focused on youth programs. Full age-group breakdowns for each sport are available on the city's parks and recreation page.

MBParks operates more than 40 parks and facilities across Miami Beach.

Game schedules, venues, and team assignments have not yet been posted. The 10-week season begins September 8, with non-resident registration on August 17 the next key date on the calendar.
