Miami Beach residents can register for the Halloween Half Marathon at half price using the discount code MBRESIDENT, the City of Miami Beach said on X.

The race takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, starting at 6:30 a.m. at Seventh Street and Ocean Drive. The event includes a half marathon, a Freaky 4-Miler and a Trick or Treat Kids Dash, according to the event website. The city says the event is walker-friendly and open to all levels.

Most of the route runs along the Beachwalk, the oceanfront path that stretches through South Beach. The city warns that runners and walkers will pack the path during the morning hours, so regular Beachwalk users should plan for heavy foot traffic or pick a different route.

Road closures

Drivers near South Beach will need to plan around two temporary road closures on race morning:

  • 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.: Southbound lane closure on Alton Road and South Pointe Drive
  • 6:30 to 8 a.m.: Full closure of Ocean Drive from First to Eighth streets

The city advises residents to use Collins Avenue as an alternative route and to follow police instructions. Pedestrians and cyclists should use caution and consider alternate paths during the race.

How to register

Registration is open at halloweenhalfmarathon.com. Miami Beach residents enter the code MBRESIDENT at checkout for 50% off. The race, the four-miler and the kids dash each require separate registration.
