A new youth flag football camp is coming to Miami Beach Senior High's football field, giving kids ages 5 to 15 a structured Saturday morning program starting Nov. 14.
Miami Beach Flag Football, a local nonprofit, announced the NFL Flag-affiliated camp through the City of Miami Beach's official account on X and on its registration page. Sessions run 9 to 10 a.m. every Saturday through Jan. 30, 2027, at the MBSH football field at 2231 Prairie Ave. Three Saturdays are blacked out: Nov. 28, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
MBSH head football and girls flag football coach Wilkie Perez will lead the camp. According to the organization's website, Perez grew the Hi-Tides football roster from 23 players to 65 in his first year as head coach. He holds four Division II NCAA offensive records from his playing days at Glenville State University in West Virginia.
The nine-week program costs $288 plus a $3.50 transaction fee. That covers nine one-hour sessions and a reversible NFL FLAG jersey. The final session includes a complimentary lunch. Families registering more than one child receive a discount, and pricing is pro-rated at the one-third and two-thirds marks for late joiners.
Registration stays open through Jan. 30, 2027.
The organization also donates $100 to a school's PTSA for every five paid registrations from that school. Miami Beach Flag Football says it has donated $2,000 to local schools since it started operating in 2025.
The nonprofit, founded in 2025 and led by president Casey Wood, previously ran an eight-week camp at the same field from Sept. 12 through Oct. 31. That earlier session cost $249 for eight weeks.
Families can register at miamibeachflagfootball.com or call 305-707-4269. The first session is Saturday, Nov. 14, at 9 a.m.
