Chef Eileen Andrade, the Miami restaurateur behind Finka Table & Tap and Amelia's 1931, will transform McDonald's French fries into a Spanish-themed gourmet tasting on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, to raise money for families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida.

The 2nd Annual Wine & Fries event, hosted by the Red Shoe Society at the CocoPlum Women's Club in Miami, runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Andrade is creating four custom fry toppings paired with Spanish wines from Wine41, alongside tapas-style bites and live entertainment.

"I wanted each sauce to tell a different story and offer guests a unique experience," Andrade said in a July 16 statement. "Wine & Fries should feel playful while still delivering the creativity people expect from a chef-driven event."

Personal connection inspires chef's support

The partnership is personal for Andrade. Her best friend's family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House while her friend's son underwent therapy. After winning the Goya Foods Heritage Fire competition at the 2025 South Beach Wine & Food Festival, Andrade chose RMHC South Florida as the beneficiary and donated $5,000 in Goya products to stock the House pantry.

Andrade comes from a multigenerational Cuban culinary family. Her grandfather opened Islas Canarias, one of Miami's best-known Cuban restaurants, in 1977. She launched Finka Table & Tap in 2014 and Amelia's 1931, named after her grandmother, in 2017.

Fundraiser supports expanding family services

The Red Shoe Society, the charity's philanthropic women's group, organizes the event. Prominent members include philanthropist Ana VeigaMilton, Jenisbel Acevedo of La Colonia Medical Center and Coral Gables Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson.

The fundraiser comes as RMHC South Florida typically operates at full capacity. The organization, which provides free lodging, meals and support services to families with children in local hospitals, hosts nearly 225 families and delivers more than 3,000 nights of care each year. In 2024, 125 families were turned away because of a lack of space, according to the charity. A $33 million expansion broke ground in September 2025 and will grow capacity from 31 to 54 rooms.
