The City of Miami Beach held its virtual public meeting on the 2027 Boat Show traffic plan Thursday evening, July 30, giving residents a first look at how the five-day event will reshape traffic around the Convention Center and Collins Avenue next February.

The 86th Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show runs February 10–14, 2027. The Miami Beach Convention Center will again serve as the main indoor hub for boats up to 49 feet, while larger vessels, ranging from 30 to 125 feet, will be displayed in the water along Indian Creek off Collins Avenue as part of the Miami Beach Yacht Collection.

That Collins Avenue display returned in 2026 for the first time since 2018, according to Powerboat News, making 2027 its second consecutive year near the Fontainebleau and Eden Roc hotels. The show draws more than 100,000 visitors and generates a $1.34 billion economic impact, according to the city.

The city has not yet released specific street closures or parking restrictions for the 2027 traffic plan. Traffic concerns ran high during 2026 planning. Public Works Director John C. Norris told the city's February 4 Public Safety and Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee meeting that open sewer excavations on Pinetree Drive and La Gorce Drive would coincide with the show. Commissioner Tanya K. Bhatt responded that the city should "specify heading over to Alton Road and then having the traffic detail staffed appropriately to then manage the chaos." Transportation and Mobility Director José R. González deployed 20 digital message boards for real-time traffic management during the 2026 show, as reported by Local 10.

It is unclear whether those sewer projects will still affect roads during the 2027 event.

For 2027, free ICON EV golf carts will run continuously between the Collins Avenue venue and the Convention Center. Shuttle connections will also link the Brightline Station, IGY Yacht Haven Grande, and Collins Avenue, according to show organizers.

Thursday's Zoom session ran from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and was led by Neighborhood Affairs Division Director Natalie Perepechkin. The city promoted the meeting on its official X account on July 27 and July 29.
