Miami Beach residents looking to play padel have two permanent clubs to choose from, each with a different price point and feel.

A September guide from Miami Living breaks down the local options: Padel Point Miami, an outdoor facility on Normandy Drive, and Sunset Padel, a members-only indoor club in Sunset Harbour. Padel is a racket sport played on an enclosed court roughly one-third the size of a tennis court, with walls in play.

Padel Point Offers Affordable Outdoor Courts, No Membership

Padel Point operates five outdoor courts at 1960 Normandy Drive. The club offers free parking, equipment rental and changing rooms. No membership is required.

Court rentals start at $48 on weekdays and weekends. A morning rate drops to $25 per person for 90-minute sessions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the club's Instagram page. Group clinics run $35 to $40 per player for 60 minutes, according to the Miami Living guide.

The programming calendar lists early-morning clinics, low-intermediate sessions, women's tournaments and Americano-format events.

Sunset Padel Provides Indoor Courts, Members-Only Access

Sunset Padel at 1880 West Ave. takes a different approach. The club has four indoor courts with Mondo Turf surfaces and lighting designed by Spanish court builder Padel Galis.

Premier membership costs $350 per month plus court fees at member rates, with five-day advance booking included, according to the Miami Living guide. Members can bring up to three guests per reservation, according to Miami New Times.

Sports director Pablo Ibáñez, a former World Padel Tour player who previously helped build Nueva Alcántara Club in Marbella, leads the instruction program. Clinics include 60-minute women's beginner and low-intermediate sessions. Private coaching is also available.

Co-founder Rafi Gibly told Miami New Times in 2024 that the indoor setup solves a South Florida problem: "The sun magnifies that much more off of the glass in padel, and, with the South Florida sun, no one wants to play midday."

The club was founded by Gianluca Vacchi, Chris Paciello, Michael Stern and Gibly.

Mayor Highlights Sport's Growing Profile on X

Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner highlighted the sport's growing local profile on July 2, posting on X about soccer stars visiting Sunset Padel during the World Cup buildup:

Padel X Pop-Up Provides Temporary Third Option

Players also have a temporary third choice. The Padel X Summer Club pop-up at 1111 Lincoln Road runs through Sept. 15.
