Two new recurring events give Lincoln Road and South Beach residents fresh reasons to step out in August: an open-air film series six stories above Lincoln Road and a free women-owned artisan market steps from the beach.

Movies above Lincoln Road

Rooftop Cinema Club returns to its sixth-floor terrace at 1212 Lincoln Rd. with four family-friendly screenings this month. The lineup: Ratatouille on Sunday, Aug. 9; The Princess Bride on Thursday, Aug. 13; The Princess Diaries on Sunday, Aug. 16; and Shrek on Sunday, Aug. 30.

Guests watch on wireless headphones from Adirondack chairs and loveseats, with the downtown Miami skyline across the bay. A full bar, food, and lawn games open before showtime. Tickets start at $21.75 on the Rooftop Cinema Club website.

The venue runs screenings year-round and also programs drag nights, queer cinema, Spanish-language features, and family matinées beyond the August classics schedule.

Herpreneur Artisan Market at The Goodtime Hotel

The Herpreneur Artisan Market launches its August run Sunday, Aug. 2, with two more dates on Sunday, Aug. 16, and Sunday, Aug. 30. The free, open-air market fills The Goodtime Hotel's Breezeway at 601 Washington Ave. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each session.

Organizer Sophia Douglass brings together South Florida women-owned businesses selling fashion, jewelry, beauty products, wellness items, and home décor. Guests who RSVP in advance on Eventbrite get a 20% discount at Strawberry Moon, the hotel's restaurant.

The market ran a July edition and returns monthly, according to Patch event listings.

More August happenings in the neighborhood

$1 parking through Oct. 31. The city's $1-per-hour parking promotion is back at municipal lots, garages, and on-street meters, available exclusively through the ParkMobile app. Each session allows up to three discounted hours, with a 45-hour cap for the full three-month period. "Reducing parking to just $1 an hour from August through October helps us welcome more visitors while supporting the small businesses that anchor our community," Commissioner Alex Fernandez said when the city announced the program July 29.

Miami Spice through Sept. 30. The dining program's 25th anniversary edition features more than 300 restaurants offering three-course prix-fixe menus: $40 for brunch or lunch, $50 or $65 for dinner, plus a new $95 Reserve tier. Miami Beach alone has more than 48 participating spots, including Strawberry Moon, Hakkasan, Joe's Stone Crab, and Estiatorio Milos, according to Miami New Times.

Live jazz at The Betsy, all month. The Betsy Hotel at 1440 Ocean Dr. hosts free live jazz nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on weekends, plus Jazz Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to Soul of Miami. The Ocean Drive Association Promenade Concert Series brings performances to Lummus Park on Sunday, Aug. 2 (Amy Arlo with Jaui Schneider) and Sunday, Aug. 9 (Assel Jean-Pierre Trio). Grammy-winning pianist Tal Cohen holds a weekly Piano Masters & New Voices residency every Tuesday at The Piano Bar.
